Hidden Collard, Crouching Carrot


Last weekend Hubby wanted to make a smoothie, but we had a hodge podge of fruit and veggies in the fridge. He pulled out some ginger, carrot, lemon, blueberries, collard greens, spinach and frozen strawberries. Citrus & Mint Berry Water


For water that’s not so blah, cut up your favorite fruit or berries and herbs, and let them diffuse into the water for some flavor. In the citrus water, I sliced oranges, lemon and lime. In the other carafe, there are raspberries, blackberries and mint leaves.

How to Make the Perfect Smoothie


The protein shake has been my fall back breakfast for the past several months, so I was super excited that all the ingredients are Daniel-friendly. We had to make one modification, and that was swapping the whey protein powder for rice based powder. Cranberry Berry Goblet


This morning’s shake consisted of cranberries, strawberries, pineapple, spinach, orange juice and vanilla whey protein powder. I have no idea how much of each ingredient. I just drop in frozen pieces of fruit until I think, that looks about right and then I press “blend.” I’m hoping to try Almond milk in place of orange juice this week, although it still sounds a little too granola for me.
