I've been taking Miss C's weekly photo since birth, inspired by an idea from a Home DIY blog, Young House Life. I've received several questions about where to find the bows and onesies that I use, so here's the behind the scenes scoop on 52 bows.
Where do I find the bows?
You wouldn't believe how expensive hair bows can be, so I buy them at a consignment store called Kid to Kid. The bows are new, never used, but the prices are reasonable (especially since I need 52 of them to complete the 52 Bow project).
Where do I find the numbered onesies?
I buy a plain white onesie and Photoshop the number onto it. I usually match the circle color to either her hair bow or accessory such as her tights or shoes if she's wearing them.
How do I find time to take her photo every week?
I try really hard to take her picture on a Sunday and then post it on Tuesday. I like taking her photo on Sunday because I am at home while the sun is still up, and the weekend usually gives me more flexibility with my schedule. Sometimes it's challenging if I'm traveling, though. I've been known to take her picture before heading to work in the morning if there is enough daylight. And I like to post on Tuesdays because she was born on a Tuesday.

Check out my cutie pie! This week’s shoot was challenging because this diva keep rolling over. Every time I laid her on her back and got the shot focused, flip! For a chick that hates tummy time she was all about it, showing off her developmental milestones. At least she was still posing as she rolled, right?

Guess who showed up on today’s shoot? The Lion! He was right there coaching Miss C on how to look at the camera, and finally he decided to insert himself into her session. But can you blame him? Look at the smile on her face in the last photo. Pure blissful joy and happiness.
Oh, and thank you to those of you (Ahem, Uncle Jim…{cough} and Granny) who reminded me that I was behind on 52 Bows. Last week was a flurry of procrastination with spring break and all. Somehow I took her weekly photo and never got around to posting it. So now we’re back on track.
