A few weeks ago I practiced brining a turkey. Huh? Yes, me. I was all excited for the holidays to begin, so I went to Central Market, and got a fresh turkey breast. I mixed kosher salt, brown sugar, apple cider and water, and then seasoned it with orange peels, garlic, dried sage and fresh pepper. Since I was going to roast the turkey, I figured I might as well make some dressing, so we had an entire Thanksgiving meal two weeks early. Hubby carved the breast and the six of us (Hubby’s mom is here) enjoyed Thanksgiving. So glad we did since he’s not back from his father’s funeral yet.
